Canibeat presents First Class Fitment 2015

Ivy League college campuses are known for their elevated education, historic architecture, and perceived wealth. They’re not usually associated with the setting of the import car community until Canibeat began hosting their annual show First Class Fitment in Princeton, NJ.

Now in its 6th year, the show is hosted in the hangar area of a functioning private airport. Attendees are treated to a variety of automobiles and tuning styles, while the show winners are treated to custom awards made from translucent powdercoated CCW wheel faces.

Liberty VIP car club usually dominates the VIP entries at this show, however this new Lexus LS460 build surfaced and took home the “Best VIP” award.

The complete K-Break kit covers the body in aggressive styling, while the Leon Hardiritt Jager wheels finish off the exterior with an elegant touch.

A division of the show is reserved for some of the nicest Honda Ruckus builds the East Coast has to offer. These scooters are also in the running for their own “Best Ruckus” award.

This particular example had a custom seat wrapped in Recaro fabric, deep blue paint, a carbon fiber front fender, and a burnt exhaust tip.

A new award for this year, the “People’s Choice” award, was decided by tallying up how many times a car had been posted on Instagram throughout the show. The recipient was this blue MKV VW GTI with fifteen52 Tarmac wheels.

This dark red wide body FD RX7 had polished CCW wheels, LED headlights, and tucked the turbo rotary engine behind its vented hood.

MKI VWs have become increasingly rare to see at shows because honest examples are harder to find. The silver BBS wheels and window louvers of this black Rabbit complete a subtle yet spotless exterior.

The open hood reveals the shaved, tucked, and supercharged engine. Obvious clearance issues didn’t stop the owner from installing the blower.

The misleading exterior of this refined MKIII VW GTI with CCW wheels, would lead you to believe this was only a show car.

However a peek into the interior shows the shift box for the sequential transmission, and a polished roll cage surrounding Recaro Sportster CS seats.

Forgeline GA3 wheels were built in wide specs to fill the fenders of this Varis wide body Subaru STI hatchback.

Classic cars are mixed with the newer chassis, giving a balance to the field of show cars. An unmolested original body and refinished chrome BBS RS wheels were enough to make this GSL-SE FB RX7 stand out amongst the other cars.

The burgundy interior color screams 80’s styling. Continued via a Nardi wood grain steering wheel and shift knob combo, but the addition of Recaro RS-G seats with Sabelt harnesses finalizes the interior.

The seamless exterior of this black Infiniti G35 with SSR Professor MS3 wheels foreshadowed the attention to detail stored in its chromed, powedercoated, and supercharged engine bay.

Mexico Blue paint and red Status seats saturated this Cayman in color, contrasted by the dark chrome finish of its Rotiform wheels.

A favorite of the show, this refinished VW Scirocco checked all of the boxes. From its repainted burnt orange exterior with gold BBS RS wheels, to its reupholstered light tan leather interior.

The shaved and tucked engine bay gleamed from the chrome and white finishes covering the engine.

Winner of the “Best Euro” award, this flawless VW Rabbit was fully restored in every aspect. The repainted bright yellow exterior hosted brand new moldings, bumpers, grill, and HID-retrofitted headlights.

The Epsilon wheels, period correct leather seats, and wood grain steering wheel sealed the execution of the little classic VW.

A few attendees made the 12-hour trek from Chicago, including this Infiniti G35 sedan with SSR Professor SP1 wheels.

The polished and supercharged engine was littered with ARC Magic titanium pieces, while the refinished interior utilized leather Recaro Speed seats and Crow Enterprizes racing harnesses.

Imported directly from Japan by the owner and driven up the East Coast, this real black S13 Silvia showcases Japanese style from the white Volk Racing TE37 wheels to the mismatched taillights and original Japanese vehicle tags.

One of the more unique entrants at the show was this radical 1960 Ford Pickup with a custom airbag suspension setup and notched bed to accommodate the low ride height.

This female owned Civic hatchback with Special Edition CCW wheels was repainted in a custom fuchsia color.
