- In celebration of the 20th anniversary season of Formula DRIFT, Pit+Paddock hosted a Thank You Reception for drivers, crew, and staff.
- The reception was put on with the support of Pit+Paddock partners PowerStop Brakes, Radium Engineering, Vibrant Performance, Gates, ENEOS, and Turn 14 Distribution.
- More than 150 people attended and enjoyed complimentary pizza and Kirin beer, which served a great nightcap to an unforgettable year in professional drifting.
20TH ANNIVERSARY
20 years is no small feat. When Pit+Paddock learned that 2023 was Formula DRIFT’s 20th anniversary, we wanted to do our best to support the pro drift series and celebrate the organization for its monumental success. Last August, we hosted our second Performance Car Invitational car show at FD Seattle, which showcased more than 60 elite Pacific Northwest builds. A month later at FD Utah, our Ride with Dai program gave more than 20 ride-alongs to ecstatic fans at Utah Motorsports Campus. Finally, to cap off the unforgettable year, we brought our car show and drift ride-along series to the Finals at FD Irwindale and hosted a thank-you reception for drivers, crew, and staff.
TGIF AT IRWINDALE
Formula DRIFT Irwindale takes place across two days. Saturday is the main event where more than 12,000 spectators crowd the grandstands and paddock area to check the final round of drift competition. Friday is the more chill day where spectators who can swing by the Speedway can check out the qualifying round, and visit vendors ahead of the big rush of people. Knowing that Friday would be a less busy and stressful day, the Pit+Paddock team along with our partners PowerStop Brakes, Radium Engineering, Vibrant Performance, Gates, ENEOS, and Turn 14 Distribution, decided to throw a pizza party for all teams and staff members to show our gratitude and to commend FD’s 20th anniversary.
PIZZA PARTY
The vibes were all positive and chill as 120 people stopped by the Pit+Paddock booth to enjoy delicious slices from local favorite Rose City Pizza and beer provided by Kirin. We also highlighted a few vehicles from the Performance Car Invitational show, which included the Evasive Motorsports x Turn 14 Distribution Pikes Peak Tesla Model 3, Dai Yoshihara’s R33 Skyline GT-R, and Greg Park’s McLaren P1.
It was truly an awesome experience for us to host this reception as we met several upcoming drivers, track workers, and behind-the-scenes crew members whom we had never had the opportunity to chat with before. Pizza and beers with Pit+Paddock was the perfect nightcap for Friday’s qualifying and a way for us to show our appreciation for the accomplishments of Formula DRIFT and the amazing folks who are involved in the series.
