Our final Cars+Coffee of the year is fast approaching, and so is the one-year anniversary of our attempt to circumvent social media algorithms and reward local creatives for the creativity, originality, and passion the platforms no longer seem to care about. This time, however, things are getting serious.

With the support of KYB, Motul, and PowerStop, Turn 14 Distribution’s headquarters will be the perfect venue to flex those creative muscles, where some of the best vehicles from the Greater Philadelphia and tri-state areas will be converging on Horsham, PA this Saturday, October 5th from 9 AM to Noon.

A Long Time Coming

The Pit+Paddock Creator Contest started life as a pipe dream with hopes of garnering support from the top aftermarket brands in the industry, and it forward to the local community which helped raise me into the position I’m in today. What started as a contest open to amateur and professional videographers alike, has since turned into a fierce, but friendly competition for every type of creative that can be seen at our events. 

Whether you’re capturing content for a long-form YouTube video, short-form Reel/Short/TikTok, photo carousel, or even a personal scrapbook where only your best work is scanned for the world to see (we see you Eric), you are part of the driving force that grows these events year after year, and we want to thank you for that. 

Thank You…But How Does it Work?

After the event is said and done, and you get through the state of purgatory I call editing, simply post the content you already planned to show off, send us a collab request, use our special hashtag, and you’re in! No strings attached. What are you in it for, exactly? 

What’s at Stake

It’s our best prize to date…a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, one of the hottest pieces of content creation equipment out there right now, and something that all of us at Pit+Paddock have been itching to add to our personal camera bags. But, we couldn’t have done this alone. PowerStop, one of the leading aftermarket brake manufacturers in Turn 14 Distribution’s inventory took notice of the contest’s growing popularity and stepped in to help bolster our prize pool.

After hearing about the budget increase, my mind instantly gravitated toward the mini pocket camera that my Instagram feed couldn’t help but force-feed me over the past couple of months, my feelings were bittersweet. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to give back and help support the next way of local artists, but not being allowed to enter will forever haunt me. I might’ve shot myself in the foot there, but for good reason. The fine print excludes all Turn 14 Distribution and Pit+Paddock employees from being eligible for submission (for obvious reasons), explains the other safety measures in place, along with how the lucky winner will be chosen.

We’ve said it before (and we can’t stress this enough), but followers aren’t everything. The amount of engagement your post gets isn’t the deciding factor, but one of many that goes into choosing who’s going to take home a key to unlocking a whole new world of ways to create. The overall creativity, substance, originality, and production quality will be considered alongside its virality on the gram.
