- The first anniversary of the “Creator Contest,” a social media-driven challenge that rewards local creatives’ contributions to the industry.
- The occasion warranted a fitting grand prize—a DJI Osmo 3—thanks to gracious support from PowerStop Brakes.
- Mixed media entrants were reviewed by the Turn 14 Distribution media team, and Larry Cabredo’s submission was selected as our deserved winner.
As much as creatives love the unbridled freedom to capture whatever and whenever they want, there’s an extra pang of motivation when there’s something to strive toward and other camera-laden enthusiasts to compete against for top honors. Pit+Paddock’s Creator Contest was that catalyst for local Cars+Coffee attendees. The Creator Contest is a social media-driven challenge that rewards local creatives’ contributions to the industry. We’ve attached this contest to our last three Cars+Coffee events at Turn 14 Distribution HQ, but this one was special. It was the one-year anniversary of this effort, and because of that, we felt obligated to go bigger and better for our grand prize.
WORTH THE EFFORT
Thanks to PowerStop Brakes, we were able to offer each Creator Contest participant a prize befitting of the occasion: a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. It’s one of the most coveted contest creation tools in recent memory, and admittedly, something each of us would love to add to our arsenal.
MULTIPLE ENTRIES
Fortunately for everyone who submitted content for this contest, there was plenty to shoot. Over 1,200 cars, over 2,000 attendees, and our esteemed sponsors—KYB, MOTUL, and PowerStop Brakes—helped make this record-resetting Cars+Coffee Season Closer a massive success.
After the dust had settled and we had an opportunity to narrow down the pool to a sampling of finalists, there was one that stood out to us the most: a multi-media set from Larry Cabredo that was not only eye-catching but captured the vibe, sprawl, and variety of our Cars+Coffee event really well.
WHERE IT ALL HAPPENED
Cabredo is a New Jersey native who first discovered Pit+Paddock at our Grid Icons: Porsche event in Warrington, PA. Since then, he’s been pining for another local event that would allow him to flex his media muscle. Our Cars+Coffee Season Closer was that opportunity, and clearly, his effort was well worth the drive.
It was fitting that Cabredo stopped by T14 HQ to collect his bounty. It’s where he captured the prize-winning material and, ultimately, where he unwrapped the tool he’ll use to capture more in 2025. Although he’d been shooting photos for over a decade, video is a medium he was keen to actively pursue more heavily in the new year. True to the Creator Contest’s foundation, the prizes we offer serve two purposes: 1.) be tangible tokens of gratitude for local creatives who help promote our events, and 2.) help motivate media producers to push their envelopes. A lot of his friends ride bikes, and the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 will certainly help capture that two-wheeled action with incredible fidelity.
Thank you to PowerStop Brakes for helping make this momentous Creator Contest into reality. And thank you, Larry, for sharing your creativity with us and stopping by T14 HQ to chat. We’re looking forward to seeing what you whip up next year with the new kit.
