Typical Cars+Coffee events bring enthusiasts together around a love of burnt bean water and vehicles. Pit+Paddock’s Trucks+Coffee Lounge presented by MBRP at the 2022 SEMA Show is no different, except for one crucial difference: truck parking only. Picking up where we left off last year, serving complimentary hot caffeinated drink choices to a couple hundred thousand credentialed SEMA exhibitors and attendees sounds like the perfect way to kick off our second year at the humongous trade show.

Keeping the SEMA Show churning at full tilt isn’t exactly easy, but the lovely caffeine fix we supplied wouldn’t have been possible without our partner, MBRP. Founded in 1996 by Martin and Ginger Barkey, the duo wanted to make premium aftermarket exhaust systems available to everyone and attended its first SEMA Show in 1999. Here we are, almost three decades since its founding, and MBRP has firmly planted itself as an industry leader. What started in a one-car garage has led to over a thousand products, an enthusiastic community, and countless podiums for Martin Barkey’s racing team.
DOUBLING DOWN
In its first year of exhibiting, Pit+Paddock created a Cars+Coffee Lounge that allowed SEMA exhibitors and attendees to hang out and relax with complimentary espresso drinks while also getting a chance to meet with the staff and featured influencers. Not one to rest on our laurels, we did what we do best: expanded into new regions and opened a second lounge this year at Turn 14 Distribution’s motorsports rig/outdoor truck booth.
TRUCKS?
While Pit+Paddock’s bread and butter might have started with the import and euro car market segments, we’ve never been partial to any specific type of vehicle. In fact, earlier this year, we held our inaugural Cars+Coffee: Overland Edition as a test bed, and it was an overwhelming success. Bringing the same community atmosphere and unique vehicle showcases to the SEMA Show was a no-brainer. The vehicles in attendance didn’t disappoint, either. First in the lineup was RPM Offroad Garage’s HZJ79 Land Cruiser with a big lift, Dissent Off-Road bumpers, Baja Designs lighting, Nomad wheels, and Toyo Tires. It features a unique blend of restored originality and modern performance. Other standouts included H&R Springs’ Ford Maverick pickup truck, the #CSFTRD 4Runner you might recall us covering in detail, and Hellwig Products’ Ford F-150 equipped with all of the overlanding provisions needed to be the ultimate trail boss.
We want to thank MBRP and Turn 14 Distribution for their partnership in our inaugural Trucks+Coffee Lounge at the 2022 SEMA Show.
