NA Heroes has given us a lot to talk about. Admittedly, the hardest part of putting on an event of this magnitude and quality is spreading out the news so that we sustain the buzz that has been building since our first announcement. The truth is that we’ve been incubating a lot of these ideas for over a year—gathering the building blocks for what would become the Grid Icons series—and identifying the right moment when we’d know it’d flourish. Timing is everything as they say, and I believe our agency’s capacity for ideation and the acute recognition of when the industry, or our clients, need a specific piece help make Pit+Paddock special.

Our partnership with BMW CCA is part of that. Working alongside one of the largest single-marque clubs in the country adds some pressure, naturally, but we’ve brought the red-hot Grid Icons concept, a gorgeous backdrop, and two cherished machines from BMW Motorsport’s archive—an E92 M3 GT and Z4 GTLM—to ensure we put our best foot forward. Still, the next bit of news is equally exciting: a limited-edition capsule collection drop with GarageWelt.

LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP

I first met Narek from GarageWelt in person back in 2016 during the later years of Bimmerfest. Back then, GarageWelt was amongst the few that melded car culture with the skate deck medium. It was a crossover that resonated with many of us—an evolution of our childhood interests as we earned the privilege to drive—and it helped align Narek and Eric’s company with the enthusiast community. Similar to us, the building blocks were already there for what GarageWelt was destined to become. Its studio back then had connecting points to the space they call home today. In 2024, GarageWelt and its plethora of fans have an aesthetic that can be spotted from a mile away.

There’s a visual philosophy that is associated with the brand, an effortless cool. Skate decks continue to be its staple, but GarageWelt has evolved into a lifestyle. Narek and Eric have managed to identify the crossovers between automotive culture and the rest of our lives as adults.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO COLLABORATE

That kind of history often leads to good places. In this case, Pit+Paddock and GarageWelt sought to create a small collection of goods that would recognize our crossover within the NA Heroes context. The capsule consists of three limited edition items: an E92 M3 GT skate deck commemorating the hero car and its achievements, an NA Heroes skate deck that recognizes the naturally aspirated M3 lineage that birthed our event, and a t-shirt that repurposes the perfect tagline from BMW’s archive—it’s a lot like nothing else. Indeed, this event intends to be a lot like nothing else. And GarageWelt’s collaboration with Pit+Paddock is a fitting add-on to make that happen.
